Canon IXUS 125 HS Sample Photos

The Canon IXUS 125 and IXUS 127 are basically the same camera. The only difference is where they are sold in the world. So, same point and shoot camera, with a different model number dependant on the country.

The 127 HS model is, I believe, sold predominantly in Russia and also many European countries. The 125 HS is much more common in the UK. However, I bought my 127 HS on eBay UK, so the original buyer more than likely got it from abroad. Anyway the sample photos, features and video quality are all the same.

Quick Review: Very small in size, battery life isn't that good, video recording is limited to 1GB in file size, or ten minutes total record time (regardless of quality), and the "Full HD" is just that, Full HD. But only does so at 24fps (Frames per second). I've found recording at 720p to be much better and smoother.

Especially when using the camera to record car dash cam footage (less blurry in certain areas). Zoom is very loud when used while recording video. When playing back the footage its extremely noticeable. See an example here.

By the sounds of it, the zoom must be motorised in some way. Auto Focus can also be slow when recording video. And sometimes it just doesn't correct itself for a long time.

It has lots of features, like Fish eye, colour accent, stitching, Super Vivid, Slow Motion (with no sound) etc. All in all, a good little point and shoot camera. Very convenient to carry around due to its super small size.
