British Made Computer Tablets

These days, with the majority of the worlds electrical production, especially computer components, now being made in Asia, You would be hard pressed to find a computer product that is 100% British made. And when you think about it, although it is quite disappointing, this does make sense.

Mass production, constantly evolving product lines and the much lower production / manufacturing costs found abroad have basically forced businesses to outsource to Asian countries in order to make more money and compete in a world that has now made it very difficult stay afloat due to the majority of UK computer companies buying / having their products made / manufactured in Asian countries.

The most "British" Tablet PC I could find. The Neocore brand has a choice of two main models. The Neocore E1, and the N1. The E1 is the flagship model which has a spec consisting of: 10.1 Inch Screen, Quad Core Processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB Storage and an SD slot capable of holding up to a half a Terabyte SD card.

The E1 can be found for sale at the above link on Amazon and on Neocore's website. It is usually for sale on Amazon as well, but at the time of writing this post it looks to be sold out.

Can you imagine the price difference between a Tablet PC that was made in the UK, using all UK workers, UK manufacturing, and even UK components (Do the UK even produce computer components anymore on a mass scale, I don't think so) Vs the same or a very similar specifcation Tablet computer made / assembled in China using Chinese labour and components sourced from Asia.

The prices would be very different. And if selling these two competing products on the same platforms, to the same customer base (basically the whole of the UK using their own website, as well as eBay and Amazon etc), can you imagine how high the price would have to be for the British made Tablets to be able to compete and for the company producing them to make a worth while profit. The cost would more than likely be too high.

So, is there any British made tablets out there in 2021 / 2022. The closest I have found to this is from a brand called Neocore (pictured above). They claim to produce British made Tablets. Or, as they state in their product description so I'm not misleading anyone: "Neocore is an established British brand, one of the first independent tablet PCs manufacturers in the UK".

The question here, though, is how "British" are their products. Are they "manufactured" or assembled in the UK, but all the internal components are sourced from somewhere in Asia. I don't know for sure because I haven't opened one of their tablets up, but I would suspect that would be the case.

Just like it is with practically all the other brands. So, whether made in UK or not, they will almost certainly be using Chinese components somewhere in their Tablets. That is very hard to avoid these days.

Where do you think the big brands like Samsung, Apple, Asus and Huawei get all their components / sub components from. Whether that is Taiwan, Singapore, China or Malaysia. And where do you think their products are made / manufactured.

It's mostly all done in Asia. The only exception with Apple is their Apple Mac Pro, which I understand is made in the USA. That is one of the reasons for its super high price tag. There are probably a few more from various different brands, but it is quite rare these days. Post them in the comments section if you are aware of any.

So, with Neocore apparently manufacturing their products in the UK, that's better than most other brands are doing if you want something potentially more "British" than the rest.
