While there are already some very effective ways of taking cannabis that don't involve smoking, such as oils, capsules, creams rubbed into the skin, and even eating the stuff, any new method that doesn't involve the dangers of smoking is always worth a mention. Smoking it is most probably the most unhealthy way to get cannabis into the system.
And for people who take / need cannabis for medical reasons, and may have other health conditions to deal with on a daily basis, the healthiest methods are always the safest. It's even in some supplements these days.
That brings me to Sublingual Cannabis Tablets. Currently, there is some talk and research taking place that points to the fact that there is a need for a way to ingest cannabis so it offers faster pain relief. With Sublingual Cannabis Tablets, they are placed under the persons tongue, dissolve in the mouth and go straight into the bloodstream.
This translates into the user feeling the effects much quicker. And because its going straight into the bloodstream, it doesn't have to travel the long way through the bodily organs. So the user not only feels the effects quicker, but will also get the most out of each dose.
But, due to the faster delivery, a dose of Sublingual Cannabis Tablets won't last as long. So its great for people who need an almost instant, short term medical "hit" so to speak, but not so good for those who require slower but longer lasting pain relief. Still, it's an interesting topic, and no doubt useful for those who need an extremely fast reacting dose to get rid of pain etc.
Will it be available any time soon? Apparently its all about the money, and the price to produce Sublingual Cannabis Tablets is more than it is to produce other products already out there for sale which are just swallowed (slower to feel the effects) rather than placed under the tongue. But with more testing and research, this might not always be the case. So definitely an interesting topic worth keeping an eye on.
Please note: This post is not talking about the recreational use of cannabis. It's strictly referring to use for medical patients who take legally prescribed cannabis as medicine in order to function. This post is also not promoting any specific product, but merely touching upon a new method of delivery for patients that is currently being tested and has recently hit the headlines.
